Karel's Belgium,
Your way.
Generic tours follow a script. Karel follows you. Most of his tours already have a subject, the wars, the architecture, the beer, the Belgium the Belgians keep to themselves. A custom tour starts one step earlier, with a question: what would you like to understand by the end of the day? Some guests arrive with something specific. A great-grandfather who fought here. A single art nouveau house they've seen in a book. A wedding anniversary spent somewhere their friends have never been. Others simply know what bores them, and that's a good enough place to start.
How it works
Write to Karel with what you're curious about, roughly how long you have, and how much walking you fancy. He'll come back with a proposal: the route, the stops, the timings, where you'll eat and what you'll be drinking when he tells you the best of it. You change what you like. Then it's yours. There's no menu to choose from and no minimum. Half a day in one neighbourhood, or three days across Flanders. Eight guests at most and the same guide from the first email to the last stop.
What you'll get either way
History, culture, architecture and beer, poured story by story. Karel weaves all four into every tour, whatever the subject, because in Belgium they were never separate to begin with. Tell Karel what you'd like to see. He'll tell you what you should also see, and then you can argue about it.
